ABF is one out of ten Swedish liberal adult education organizations. ABF is connected to the Swedish labour movement and was founded in 1912 by the Social Democrats, Cooperation and the trade unions congress TUC (LO). Our mission then, and now, is to educate and develop the labour movement organisations and their members, both for the individual perspective as to take part in society.
Today our mission is just as relevant, with a society where the social gaps are growing. We facilitate around 64,000 study circles and around 35,000 lectures every year all around Sweden. Today ABF consist of 51 local branches, 21 regional branches and 57 central member organizations.
